Still waiting...

Nothing exciting to report. My Demon Tweeks catalogue arrived so now I can look at the mass of expensive gear I'm going to have to buy at some point. Caterham Midlands are going to get back to me with an update on delivery etc.

Confirmation from the factory

Got my confirmation from the factory today which is the good news. The bad news is that they are quoting late July delivery which is a month or so later than I was expecting. I'll try to follow up with Caterham Midlands to see whether there is any way of bringing this forwards. It does mean that I'll need to find my ?3000 second deposit in about three weeks time (i.e. towards the end of April).

End of July delivery confirmed

Got confirmation that Caterham have decided not to produce any Academy 2004 cars until late July/August so it doesn't look as if I'm going to be able to get my car any earlier.

Delivery date not confirmed (maybe!)

Got a letter from Caterham this morning - looks like one to all Academy competitors but it mentions September for deliveries (you can see it here). I hope this means that my date hasn't moved back again.

Emailed Caterham Midlands asking them whether late July is still the date for my car.

Bought two pairs of axle stands and a foot pump from Machine Mart. I'm going to gradually build up my tools over the next couple of months to avoid having to spend a load of money in one go.

Date changed again

Got confirmation from Caterham Midlands that the date has changed (again).

:-(

Apparently they are still working on the lowered floor - I had wondered why this was mentioned specifically in the letter from Caterham. This means that productuion has been pushed back about a month making it late August/early September or so. It's really disappointing to have had the date change twice so quickly after ordering and particularly to miss the Summer. But that's life.

Tricky (Academy 2003 - Series 1) has recommended a starter button and additional oil pressure light. I'd pretty much decided to get a starter button, but the light sounds like a useful consideration. One to add to my list.
