Oulton Park Testing

Drove up to Oulton Park on Thursday night for a whole day of testing on the Friday. The day started cold and damp and the first session was cautious as I had to both learn the circuit and cope with the damp conditions. Times soon got faster and faster as I worked out which way to go....

In the end I was setting times around 1:47, about 2 seconds off the pace. I finally got round to getting Caterham to check the tracking following my collision with James Sykes at Snetterton. I had looked to see if anything was bent but the tie rod and wishbone all looked straight to me. Within 10 seconds, Simon had noticed that the tie rod end bracket was bent and another minute later had replaced it. Brilliant service as usual.

Unfortunately poor Hugo had an argument with the tyre wall, resulting in a bent chassis that puts him out for the rest of the season.

So back to the Travelodge for a nights sleep (after a few beers of course) ready for the traditional early start the next day.
